A subsidiary of Nickerson-Zwaan bv since 1996, Nickerson-Zwaan SA is well known in Southern Africa for high quality vegetable seeds. These include greenhouse cucumbers, peppers, a wide range of tomato varieties, carrots, cabbage, lettuce and a wide range of other crops. Other strong areas of interest are green beans, squash, pumpkins and onions including short and intermediate day length types.

Due to our links with Limagrain, the world’s second largest vegetable seed group, we are able to represent and distribute leading international brands, including VILMORIN SA, HARRIS MORAN INC in addition to NICKERSON-ZWAAN varieties. In addition we will also offer in future an outstanding range of tomato, pepper, onion, melon and lettuce varieties from HAZERA VEGETABLE GENETICS.

As a distribution company, the focus is on quality of service and competitive varieties, backed up by excellent technical support. The South African subsidiary’s Head Office is situated 7km from Lanseria Airport, to the NW of Johannesburg. With the recent appointment of additional product development staff , we have been able to greatly extend our program of trials to screen new varieties. Currently twenty employees are active in sales and operational duties, with permanent representation via 5 full time sales staff and 3 agents in the main vegetable production areas. All our field staff develope extensive experience in vegetable production, and it is our policy to only employ technically proficient personnel of the highest calibre.

Apart from our customer service centre at Head Office in Gauteng, we also have branches in Cape Town, KZN-Natal and Limpopo Province from which seeds are despatched to all parts of the country.
